Estate clearing support
You don't have to do this alone
Sorting through the belongings of someone you love can be one of the hardest things to face.
Every room holds memories. Every drawer has a story. And sometimes, even the smallest decisions can feel enormous.
Whether you're managing a deceased estate, preparing a family home for sale or helping a loved one transition into care, the practical responsibility of sorting through a lifetime of belongings can feel overwhelming.
Especially when there are emotions, family responsibilities and deadlines to navigate.
You don't have to manage it all on your own.
How I can help
I provide gentle, respectful, professional organising and practical estate clearing support to help you work through the belongings and spaces that need attention.
We'll take the time to understand your circumstances, what needs to happen and what matters most to you and your family. There is no expectation that you should simply 'get rid of everything', and no pressure to make decisions before you're ready.
My role is to help make the process more manageable, one step at a time.
I offer three flexible ways of working:
-
Alongside you: hands-on support while you or your family make decisions.
-
Independently: practical sorting and organising based on clear, agreed instructions.
-
A combination of both: we work together initially to identify important belongings and establish a plan, then I continue with agreed tasks independently.
If you're unable to be there in person, we can discuss your priorities, agree on a plan and keep in touch throughout the process.
I'll always respect your instructions, take care with the belongings and check with you before making any decisions that haven't already been agreed upon.
The aim is to take some of the practical responsibility off your shoulders, while making sure you remain comfortable and in control of what happens.
Not sure what help you need yet? That's okay. We can start with a conversation.
Together we can
-
Create a manageable plan for sorting through the property, based on your priorities and timeframe.
-
Work through rooms and belongings in a practical, organised way.
-
Sort items into those to keep, share with family, donate, sell, or arrange for disposal.
-
Identify and set aside sentimental belongings, photographs, documents and treasured keepsakes.
-
Organise belongings for family members, helping make the process of distributing items more manageable.
-
Coordinate practical next steps, such as donation drop-offs or preparing items for collection, where appropriate.
-
Prepare the home for its next stage, whether that's cleaning, sale, handover or another family member moving in.
We can focus on one room, a particular collection of belongings or work through a larger project over several sessions.
You remain in control of what happens to the belongings. I'll provide the practical support, organisation and encouragement to help you move forward.
Making room for memories
Sometimes the hardest part of estate clearing isn't deciding what to let go of.
It's deciding what deserves to come with you.
A handwritten recipe, an old photograph, a favourite piece of jewellery or something that seems ordinary to everyone else can hold enormous meaning.
We can take the time to identify those special belongings and explore thoughtful ways to preserve the memories they represent.
You don't have to keep everything to honour someone you love.
And you don't have to make every decision today.
Gentle support when you need it most
Every family, every home and every situation is different.
Some people need help getting started. Others have already made decisions about what to keep but need practical assistance sorting, organising and preparing the property.
Whatever stage you're at, we'll work together with patience, understanding and respect for your circumstances.
